FROM THE HEADMASTER’S DESK
Kind Greetings #sbsm30years #sbsmnsc25years
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”, Ignacio Estrada
It is with great sincerity and deep gratitude that I welcome you to the website of Shree Bharat Sharda Mandir (SBSM), a school grounded in the Hindu Ethos, located in Lenasia. We proudly serve learners from Grade 000 through Grade 12. As the Headmaster, I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the rich legacy of SBSM and to help shape the future of our wonderful school community.
At SBSM, we have always believed in, and will continue to embrace, a holistic and values-based approach to education. Our commitment is to nurture our learners, allowing them to flourish both academically and personally. We take pride in creating an environment that not only encourages intellectual growth but also fosters the development of well-rounded individuals, ready to embrace life’s challenges. SBSM provides a rich and rewarding experience for all, and we will persist in ensuring that each student is given the tools and support they need to thrive.
”You can become ALL that you were created to be. To know and not to do, is not to know.”
In the face of the harsh realities of both the social and academic worlds, we remain steadfast in our mission to prepare our students not only for success but for true happiness. Our school is more than just an institution; it is a community that stands by each of its members. This is what makes SBSM truly special, and it is a privilege to serve the children in our care every day.
“I know this is a place for big football moments – we didn’t start this story, there were other people. But we know about our responsibility to try to write a few nice stories in football and tonight it was a really nice story.”- Jürgen Klopp LFC – YNWA
Much like Jürgen Klopp’s reflection on creating moments in football, we too have the privilege to write our own beautiful stories at SBSM. It is our responsibility to give back, to express our gratitude through SEVA, and to contribute meaningfully to the legacy of this great school. This is a task we approach with deep reverence and a sense of duty, always mindful of those who have built this foundation before us.
“No one has ever made himself great by showing how small someone else is.”
In a world that often emphasizes competition and individualism, SBSM stands as a beacon of unity, service, and collective growth. Here, we understand that education is not just about knowledge; it’s about nurturing both the mind and the soul.
“ Our community is built by many hands and many hearts, all working together to create a place where everyone is valued and supported.
SBSM is a subsidized independent school, and we are proud to offer a curriculum taught in English at the Home Language level. Registered with the Gauteng Department of Education and accredited by UMALUSI, we follow the CAPS curriculum and prepare our students for the NSC examinations in Grade 12. We are also a proud member of the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA). Our goal is to ensure that every NSC candidate has the opportunity to achieve a Bachelor’s Pass, empowering them to continue their educational journeys with confidence.
I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our exceptional students—both past and present. You are the heart and soul of our school. Your curiosity, resilience, and unwavering determination to succeed inspire me daily. Your accomplishments, whether large or small, remind me of the boundless potential within each of you. It is truly a privilege to witness your growth and to be part of your journey.
To my esteemed colleagues—the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to support and nurture our students—thank you. You are the backbone of SBSM. Your expertise, your dedication, and your passion for education make this institution extraordinary. I am deeply grateful to work alongside such a talented and committed team, and I value the inspiration you provide each day.
To our parents and guardians, your trust and partnership are invaluable. Thank you for believing in our vision, for supporting your children, and for allowing us to play a role in their education and personal development. Your involvement and collaboration are essential to the success of this school, and we are truly grateful for the ways in which you contribute to our community.
Together, we are building a place where each student is empowered to reach their fullest potential. Thank you for being a part of this beautiful journey at SBSM.
Yours in Gratitude
Mr. Jateen Nana
